Meet the Family Ministries Department
Cheri CorderDirector Cheri comes to Oregon from Upper Columbia Conference where she served as the departmental director for Adventist Community Services and Sabbath School Ministries. Previous to that, she served for nine years at Upper Columbia Academy, coordinating the community service curriculum, communications and international mission trips. Her speaking ministry has taken her to multiple conferences, including Oregon, where she has taught on both devotional and relational issues such as the five love languages and forgiveness. She grew up in Reno, Nevada, and graduated from Rio Lindo Academy and Pacific Union College. It was at PUC where she met Jon and after graduating and marrying, they remained there until moving to Upper Columbia Conference. Jon and Cheri live in Oregon City and have two adult children, Nathan and Heidi. While Cheri will oversee the planning of large events such as the singles' convention and men's retreat, and is available to speak in your church, her primary role will be to coach your church as you develop ministries that will strengthen marriages and families in your community. |

Diane PestesAdministrative Assistant "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths" (Proverbs 3:5,6 NKJV). The above verse is very precious to Diane Renée Pestes. Diane earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication Media from Walla Walla College, then spent almost 13 years in the credit union industry marketing their wonderful motto, "people helping people." Then God began putting people in her path that wanted to pray with her about everything and suddenly life changed. She discovered what a joy it is to build a solid foundation through prayer and the Bible's many promises and that taking God with you everywhere makes a huge difference. New ministries, opportunities and unexpected surprises unfolded. She became coordinator of the North Pacific Union Conference Women's Ministries Evangelistic Series for Kidapawan City, Philippines, in March 2000. She was coordinator of the God through Me...Serving with Excellence Conference in May 2001, and on the Worship Design Team for the Oregon Conference Gladstone Camp meetings in 2000 and 2001. 2002 to 2004 God kept her busy with many sermons and seminars. In March of 2005 Diane appeared on three episodes of the Time Out program for Better Living Television in Grants Pass. In March of 2006 Diane was an evangelistic speaker on the North Pacific Union Conference mission trip team to Santa Cruz, Bolivia. In May 2006, she was the coordinator and evangelistic speaker for the Pleasant Valley Adventist Church mission trip to Valle de la Trinidad, Baja, Mexico. Currently she works as Administrative Assistant for Women's Ministries of the Oregon Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and enjoys being a servant of God and praying with the many people God puts in her path. |
